The First Tee Program for 2010 is underway. We are proud to have this program here to serve all the aspiring Jr. golfers here in the valley. For more information you can call the Club house or Coach Terri Benson (PGA Class A, teaching pro) at 805.801.6106. You can also find out more about the program and updates by logging on to www.thefirstteecentralcoast.org. Also, we are now involved with the Youth on Course program sponsored by the SCGA. For more information, please visit http://www.scgafoundation.org. Volunteer and get involved with these wonderfull programs because it's for the Good of the Game...and our kids.
Coach Terri also gives private lessons and group lessons.
The 2010 First Tee season is divided into four - nine week sessions. Participants will meet a minimum of 1.5 hours each week for a total of 13.5 hours. Individual site schedules may vary within this basic offering. The cost of each session will be $100.00 for the first child and only $50.00 for each additional sibling. This registration schedule allows families the flexibility to pay for only those sessions when their children are available to attend. Class sizes may be limited to provide participants with the best possible learning environment. The First Tee staff and members of the board will continue to secure funds to cover those expenses not directly tied to the programs at each of our sites. Your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to continuing to bring character development, golf skills and life enhancing values to our children here on the central coast.

The March 6th tournament started a little chilly and had a change in format. What was to be a 3 person team scramble ended up being a two person team scramble because of the number of signups. This was a Hi/Lo draw for partners and there were 5 teams....could of been 6 but one forgot to call ahead and one forgot to check in that morning. Bill Hastings was not present but we muddled through it. Pete Concepcion could not play because of his grandsons belated birthday party BBQ. Pete also will be temporarilly stepping in as President of the Club till we can find someone permenant. Also....News Letters will no longer be mailed out. For any information regarding the club, check the site regularly or call the clubhouse. Don't forget that it is everyones responsibility to post their scores in the computer everytime you play.
The winning teams were: First Place, Steve Barlow/Gerald Grant - Grossed 59/Net 43 and Second Place went to Rick Allen/Frank Gomez - Grossed 60/Net 44. Closest to the pin winners were Frank Gomez for hole #2 and Bob Muus for hole #7. Congratulations gentlemen! You can pick up your CTP winnings at the Clubhouse.
The April 3rd tournament will be the devils format of "666". For more details, please call the clubhouse. Start time will be 8am. Remember to sign up or call in before 12 noon on the Friday before.
The Mens Club is always looking for New Members. If you are interested, please call the clubhouse and we'll get you signed up.
Their first Tournament of the year started at 9:30am on the last Saturday of the month. It was a beautiful day with a comfortable chill in the air that had them peeling off their jackets by 10:30. They would have 2 chances to get closest to the pin on hole #8 and 2 chances to get longest drive on hole #9. No mulligans, but they would be able to eliminate 2 holes of their own choosing.
Donna, with a brace on her left arm, due to a dislocated shoulder, would not be playing, but dedicated golfer that she is, accompanied them on each hole and made sure they had their proper table decor and prizes. Lenne tee'd off first on hole #8 and surprisingly was the only one to land on the green. Next was hole #9. Pauline started them off with a drive that could not be beat. It was a beauty and almost reached the green. Pauline also gave Lenne a scare when she also reached the green on #8. The second time on #9, Jill had an awesome shot and gave Pauline plenty to worry about. Barbara made some terrific pars.
They ended the tournament with their usual luncheon, except that they had to bring their own water instead of wine in those elegant glasses. Lenne said that "we miss the rest of the ladies in the club and hope to see them all in the next tournament" which will be on February 27th at 9:30am. It will be a 3-club tournament....Putter plus 2 clubs of their choosing. Awards went to Jill Cavanaugh-Long drive, Lenne Grant- closest to pin, 2nd place overall- Pauline Patterson and 1st place went to Ann Raleigh. Don't forget to turn in your $20.00 annual membership dues Ladies!
For more information, you can email Donna Strong at strongbox2@verizon.net or call her at 688-7378. You can sign up at the clubhouse.
This elite group of women are always looking for new members. Please call the clubhouse for more information.
We have started our Winter League which is open to the public. Golfers had their choice to play Sunday mornings at 9am beginning Sunday January 10th and going through March 28th, or on Thursdays at 1pm beginning January 7th through March 25th. Remember that there is a 6 round minimum to be eligible for the cash prizes and we will end the season with a BBQ. The next league will be starting soon after and will be the After Work League.....if there is a demand to continue the Sunday league, we will entertain that idea also. If you have any input on future leagues, please let us know by coming in or calling us at the Club House 805-688-2575.
